GuardIA ("we", "our", or "the extension") is designed with a strict "Privacy-First" architecture. We believe your data belongs to you.

1. No Data Collection

GuardIA does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data, sensitive information, or browsing history to any external server.

• No Analytics: We do not track how you use the extension.
• No Account Required: You do not need to sign up or log in.
• No Third-Party Trackers: The code is free of ads and tracking scripts.

2. Local Processing (Client-Side)

All operations are performed locally on your device (Client-Side).

• Text Analysis: The detection of sensitive data (IBAN, SSN, etc.) happens entirely within your browser's memory using JavaScript/RegEx.
• File Scanning: Files you upload are scanned locally in the browser before being sent to the AI platform. We never see your files.

3. Permissions Usage

The extension requests the following permissions for functional purposes only:

• activeTab / Host Permissions: To read the text box on specific AI websites (ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini) in order to detect sensitive patterns.
• storage: To save your preferences locally (e.g., which rules are enabled/disabled).

4. Data Retention

Since we do not collect data, we do not retain data. Your settings are stored locally in your browser and are deleted if you uninstall the extension.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Ideally, any changes will maintain this strict commitment to privacy. You are advised to review this page periodically.
